Therefore, as the Holy Spirit says:
“Today, if you will hear His voice (Heb 3:7)
Today, the Holy Spirit wants to talk to you. Consider “the Holy Spirit.”
The Holy Spirit – God – the Triune God, who Jesus said would be with us to guide us into all truth and help us (Jn 14:26). He, being God, knows all and has all truth and resources that we need. Further, He knows you…and He wants to talk to you today. If you could really grasp how wild and wonderful this is then you would be both humbled and amazed.
Today, the Holy Spirit wants to talk to you. Consider “today”
Four times this is emphasized in Hebrews 3&4. Today and every day that can be called “today”. Said differently – we can understand this to mean daily – every single day. Further…today, it means today. This is a promise for today!
Today, the Holy Spirit wants to talk to you. Consider how He speaks.
How does the Spirit seek to speak to us daily? Simply, the main way the Spirit speaks to us today is through the Bible. It is He that worked through the writers to give us the Inspired scriptures. It is He that enables us to understand it (1Cor 2:13-14). He opens it to us, He reminds us of it and helps apply it to our lives (John 14-16)
Today, the Holy Spirit wants to talk to you. Consider “if you will hear”
Therein is both the problem and the need. God is faithfully seeking to speak to us…the question is are we listening? Seven times in Rev 2-3 it repeats this phrase: “He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches.” ’ Therefore the question is not whether God wants to talk to you today…the question is: are you listening?
Today, the Holy Spirit wants to talk to you. Will you hear?
Wise is the child of God who sees this great faithfulness of the Lord and then seeks to hear God every day. Wise is the child of God, who opens up the Word of God daily and then asks the Spirit to speak one thing to them specifically – to open up one verse, one truth that they need to hear today. Today, I challenge you – hear what the Spirit wants to say to you.
Therefore, as the Holy Spirit says:
“Today, if you will hear His voice (Heb 3:7)
Jim
