Now I saw a new heaven and a new earth…. (Re 21:1)

Heaven is coming!   Christian, we are fast approaching the day of Jesus return, and ultimately our heavenly home.  I just feel impressed by the Lord to lay before you this day – simple truths of what is coming…that you are probably fully aware of…but may the Lord just comfort your heart with His Word.

And I heard a loud voice from heaven saying, “Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and He will dwell with them, and they shall be His people. God Himself will be with them and be their God. (Re 21:3)

The best part of heaven – will be God Himself!  Enjoying His presence, constantly!   Our sad experience so often here on earth is to enjoy living in God’s presence at random, fragmentary and limited times.   Yet, heaven – the sweetest part of all – is that God will be with us continually!  Such experience is coming…heaven is coming!

And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes; (Rev 21:4)

All that brings painful sorrow – is about to go away.   In the most simple sense, life is filled here with things that make us sorrowful.  It is not that we are always sad – but we could be.  Most often we are not sad because we choose not to focus on and think on the sorrowful things in our lives…but they are there.   But in heaven – they will not be.  As this verse continues, God lists some of the things that will be no more in heaven.

there shall be no more death

Death is a part of life here.   There is great pain and sorrow in dealing with the death of someone we love, and in heaven – that will never be our experience again.  But this more – death – the fear of death, the process of dying that can last a very long time…marks all of our lives.  But not so in heaven!

nor sorrow

Literarily, things that bring suffering, sadness and morning…will no longer be part of our existence.  Heaven is coming!

nor crying.

There will be no more reason for tears of sorrow…ever.  Heaven is coming!

There shall be no more pain,

Pain is a part of life…and it only increases as life progresses.   It is probable that right now you are coping with some kind of pain.  But living that way is going to end, Christian! Jesus is coming back for us…heave n is coming!

for the former things have passed away.”

The pain, sorrow and all that goes with them….will pass away – never to be part of our existence again.

Then He who sat on the throne said, “Behold, I make all things new.” And He said to me, “Write, for these words are true and faithful.” (Re 21:5)

God wants you to know – that all that He is here telling us is true.  It is not fantasy, it is true.  Our God, our faithful God is bringing it to pass.  It is not our doing that will bring this to pass – but He will make all things new.

Today, may you find hope and comfort with the truth – heaven is coming!

Jim
