The eyes of the Lord are in every place,

Keeping watch on the evil and the good. (Pr 15:3)

God knows….everything!  God knows everything perfectly!

I want you to think about that for just a moment.  It is actually a very comforting reality.   There is nothing good or bad that is happening in this world right now that He does not perfectly see.

You and I know vaguely anything we know.

For now we see in a mirror, dimly… Now I know in part…(1 Co 13:12)

Everything we know in this world – is at best partial knowledge.  For any that are attuned to the media in our world – you know that the same news story can be slanted in so many different ways.   The better we understand this, the more we realize that we know everything only partially.  We only know part of the facts…and often that is slanted.   No matter which news source you look to in order to understand what is happening in our world – it will always come out slanted, always be a partial understanding.  That is all we are able to do.

God knows everything.  He is not reading the daily news for His information.  He is never deceived by a particular slant to news reporting.  He sees it all perfectly…and in amazing ways is working in the midst of it all His sovereign will.

As we consider God’s perfect knowledge in this world – how should we respond to that?  Let me give you three quick thoughts.

One – trust Him with what you don’t know perfectly.

There is a wonderful submission and trust held forth to us in scripture, where we can trust Him (Pro 3:5-6), even though we don’t understand.

Lord, my heart is not haughty, Nor my eyes lofty. Neither do I concern myself with great matters, Nor with things too profound for me. (Ps 131:1)

Two – let Him who knows everything perfect, direct your life.

This does not mean you will gain His perfect understanding of what and how and when things are happening.  But it does mean you can trust Him to guide your life perfectly, even if you don’t understand it all.

Trust in the Lord with all your heart,

And lean not on your own understanding;

In all your ways acknowledge Him,

And He shall direct your paths. (Pr 3:5-6)

I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go;

I will guide you with My eye. (Ps 32:8)

Three – know that He knows you – perfectly.

As God knows all, with precise knowledge, so then we know He knows us perfectly.   Seek to be one that finds pleasure in His perfect sight, which He can bless and work through.

The eyes of the Lord are in every place,

Keeping watch on the evil and the good. (Pr 15:3)

For the eyes of the Lord run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to show Himself strong on behalf of those whose heart is loyal to Him. (2 Ch 16:9)
