For there is no partiality with God. (Romans 2:11)
Do you ever feel left out?
In our world there are many things that can cause us to feel inferior or excluded. People often form clicks that cause others to feel on the outside. Age, gender, race, height, status, IQ and more all can be things that cause us to feel that we are left out of many things.
Sadly, in a sinful world – these are not always just wrong impressions. People can and often are “partial” to others. Partially speaks of a bias or favoritism that causes people to favor one person or kind of person more than another. We probably all have been victims of this in one way or another. We have had people treat us differently or exclude us because of some bias they have. Sadly, if we are honest…we probably have treated others with our own bias as well.
God is never partial! How I want to draw you to this amazing truth today! There is no partiality with God! He does not play favorites. One of the handbooks that Bible Translators use to help them translate God’s Word into other languages says it this way:
The clause God judges everyone by the same standard may be rendered variously in different languages—for example, “men are all the same in the eyes of God,” “before God all people are equal,” “God does not treat certain people better than other people,” or even, “God does not say to one person rather than another, You are my special friend.”
Simple point for you and me….God does not play favorites! In Christ, you have the same access and opportunity with God as any other Christian. There is something so amazing and wonderful about this. Something that is so freeing and so filled with wonder. I call you to it and call you to appreciate what amazing access you have to God and His goodness here. In Christ, the things that might hinder or hold us back in this world, do not do so with and before Him.
There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, there is neither male nor female; for you are all one in Christ Jesus. (Galatians 3:28)
As wonderful and freeing as this truth is, it is also filled with responsibility. Because God is not partial to any, that means we have no excuses to hid behind for failing to walk with Him and have all that He has for us today. We are as Romans 1:20 says: “without excuse”.
In this world, many hide behind excuses – some real and some imaginary – for why they fail, or are not pressing forward in life. In Christ…all those are gone. We have an amazing God who does not operate as people do – He has no partiality. Today, I call you away from excuses that hold no valid points before God. Today, I call you to be before God as you are….accepted in His sight (if you are saved, if you are a Christian) and in that wonder step forward into all He has for you.
Today…walk with God in the wonder of His impartiality!
Yet He is not partial to princes, Nor does He regard the rich more than the poor; For they are all the work of His hands. (Job 34:19)
Then Peter opened his mouth and said: “In truth I perceive that God shows no partiality. But in every nation whoever fears Him and works righteousness is accepted by Him. (Acts 10:34-35)
… God is not impressed with the positions that men hold and He is not partial and recognizes no external distinctions… (Galatians 2:6, Amplified)
And if you call on the Father, who without partiality judges according to each one’s work, conduct yourselves throughout the time of your stay here in fear; (1 Peter 1:17)
