For if you remain completely silent at this time, relief and deliverance will arise for the Jews from another place, but you and your father’s house will perish. Yet who knows whether you have come to the kingdom for such a time as this?”

(Esther 4:14)

God creates opportunities – just for you!  Think of the marvelous description of this in Eph 2:10

For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.

God has gone ahead of you, in this day and in your life to prepare things you can be involved in for His kingdom.   As I hold this truth before you, I think of the words given to Esther as a form of exhortation for just this purpose.

If you miss it – God will use someone else.

For if you remain completely silent at this time,

relief and deliverance will arise…from another place

It is true that God has prepared things for you to do, opportunities to make an eternal difference in lives around us.  Yet, don’t think that God is up in heaven sweating and wondering if you will fail the kingdom of God.  The kingdom of God will not fail or succeed based on what you do.  God is faithful and Jesus is building His church…it will not fail.   If you fail…and it is possible – God in His faithfulness will raise up someone else.     The work will get done…but you would miss being a part of it.

God has brought you to where you are right now on purpose.

Yet who knows whether you have come to the kingdom for such a time as this?

Where you live, who you know, opportunities you have and needs you see are more designed by God than you have any idea of.   God has put you in the community you are in, the church you are a part of, in the business you work in and more.  There are divine set ups right in the path before you.  The need here is to see that, to see that there is a divine purpose to where you are…to see Him preparing good works that all you have to do is walk in them.  I call you to see what God has done to prepare you for opportunities He has put before you.

This is a call to action.

that he might show it to Esther and explain it to her, and that he might command her to go in…for her people. (Esther 4:8)

Esther was being exhorted and encouraged to step into the fray and spiritual battle before her.   She was feeling unable and finding reasons not to be involved.  This message from her uncle was to seek to stir her up to action and by God’s grace – it did.   A week from this coming Sunday, traditional Jews will celebrate Purim as a feast that commemorates the great work God did through Esther to save His people.   Yet here you see how close she came to missing out on what God had.  May you hear in this a call to step into the fray and be involved in what God has for you.

Today and at this juncture of your life – know that God in His faithfulness has prepared things before you to be involved in.

For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.

By God’s grace, my you be stirred to not pull back and only be an observer of God’s work – but to step into each and every opportunity He has prepared for you.

For if you remain completely silent at this time, relief and deliverance will arise for the Jews from another place, but you and your father’s house will perish. Yet who knows whether you have come to the kingdom for such a time as this?” (Es 4:14)
