Therefore we do not lose heart.
Even though our outward man is
perishing, yet the inward man
is being renewed day by day.
(2 Corinthians 4:16)
Today, God wants to renew you
Are you aware of this? Are you allowing and joining Him in what He is seeking to do? I want you to focus on one part of this verse today.
the inward man is being renewed day by day
Something NEW is something fresh, unused, and pristine. To figure this out, all we have to do is contrast something NEW with something USED. Something used is worn down, not in perfect working order, something that shows wear and often being worn out. New is fresh, full and filled life.
To be RENEWED is to restore to its original state, to revive and bring back to a place of vigor, purpose and potential.
So…silly question: how do you feel today? Do you feel NEW or USED?
Physically we often are aware that we are not in a new, fresh or powerful position…and that is true.
Even though our outward man is perishing
Yet, God desires to do something in our hearts and in our spirits today. God desires to bring us to a place that our spirit is fresh, new, renewed. God desires to do this every day.
the inward man is being renewed day by day
God desires to renew you today. I invite you to focus on this word “renew” in these verses below and see God’s aim today to renew you.
put on the new man who is renewed in knowledge according to the image of Him who created him,
(Colossians 3:10)
and be renewed in the spirit of your mind,
(Ephesians 4:23)
Create in me a clean heart, O God,
And renew a steadfast spirit within me.
(Psalm 51:10)
But those who wait on the LORD
Shall renew their strength;
They shall mount up with wings like eagles,
They shall run and not be weary,
They shall walk and not faint.
(Isaiah 40:31)
And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.
(Romans 12:2)
Today….I call you to be renewed in your heart and soul. Today, I want you to know that God wants to refresh you and renew you in a powerful way. Today….be renewed!
Therefore we do not lose heart.
Even though our outward man is
perishing, yet the inward man
is being renewed day by day.
(2 Corinthians 4:16)
